Local 147 Training Fund
Local 147 Training Fund is a partnership between the members of Local
Union 147 and The General Contractors Association of New York.
The Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) established
Laborers-AGC in 1969. Soon it became evident that the local union also
needed to be involved in the training and education of its members. In
2000, the Local 147 Training Fund was established to provide its members
training in areas relevant to Local 147 jurisdiction covered by the
collective bargaining agreement.
Local 147 Training Fund is a cooperation of labor and management to
further their members/employees through training and education. This
cooperation has allowed Local 147 to train hundreds of its members in
health/safety practices, as well as new technology.
Local 147 will continue to work with The General Contractors
Association of New York to provide current technology training to train
the workforce of tomorrow.
